Rose Mary oil is extracted from an herb that is perennial. It has a woody appearance and leaves that are pine like, looking more like needles. The herb belongs to the family Lamiaceae and is commonly seen in the Mediterranean Regions. The plant grows either erect or is sometimes seen crawling on the ground. The ones that grow erect can reach a height of say 5-6 ft but 6 ft is very rare. The leaves are green and stay evergreen. There are two tone leaves that are green on the top and white below. A very unusual feature about the leaves is the presence of small, thick hairy projections on its surface. The flowers are very common and seen all year around in plants that grown in warm to cool climates, as those of which that are toward the north are seen blossoming only in the summer. They are seen in seemingly pleasant colors of white, blue, purple and pink.
